Support research on plastic pollution
Donations, volunteering, philanthropy: every form of support moves our work on microplastics and nanoplastics forward. Here is how you can take concrete action.
Make a donation
A donation, whatever the amount, directly funds our fieldwork campaigns, our laboratory analyses and our scientific publications. And to go further, become a member: your membership is also tax-deductible and gives you access to member-only benefits (newsletter, invitations to our conferences…), which will grow over time.
€90 excl. VAT
The cost of a gut microbiota analysis (16S metagenomics) carried out by CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) MARBEC from turtle faeces. This analysis lets us assess the toxicity of MNPs on the digestive barrier and the associated risks of nutritional or neurocognitive disorders.
€180 excl. VAT
The cost of measuring B-esterases in plasma or serum in sea turtles and humans, carried out by the Institute of Marine Sciences of Barcelona (ICM Barcelona). This is a crucial analysis in our neurotoxicity studies, as this biomarker directly reveals the impact of MNPs on neurons and our nervous system.
€350 excl. VAT
The cost of measuring micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) (Raman spectroscopy) in faeces, blood, urine, hair or scutes, carried out by CNRS CBMN. This is TORPP's central analysis, used to characterise the level of plastic contamination of an organism, turtle or human.
€650 excl. VAT
The cost of a co-pollutant analysis with our service providers: pesticides, heavy metals, PFAS… Useful for understanding the “cocktail effects” between pollutants.
€1,600 excl. VAT
The cost of a bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) device, used to measure the body composition of sea turtles (% fat mass, % lean mass) and assess the nutritional toxicity of MNPs on sea turtles.
€2,800 excl. VAT
The cost of an Argos satellite tag that would let us measure the impact of plastic pollution on the cognitive abilities of sea turtles and their orientation skills during migration.
€6,000
The stipend for a Master's student on a 6-month placement on a TORPP research project. In partnership with its academic partners, TORPP is committed to university training and already co-supervises multiple undergraduate and Master's placements. A key contribution to advancing our research.
Donors and members subject to French income tax are eligible for a 66% tax reduction on the amount paid, up to 20% of their taxable income (Article 200 of the French General Tax Code). A tax receipt is issued for every donation and every membership. Donors resident outside France should check the rules that apply in their own country.
Philanthropy & partnership
Companies, foundations, organisations: get involved and associate your image with recognised scientific research into a major public health issue. Partial or full funding: TORPP has a research project to match your wishes for commitment. And remember that corporate philanthropy qualifies for a tax benefit, under the conditions set out by law.
